Lash Extensions: The More You Know.

Most women find that putting in the time every morning to put on macara can sometimes be too much. No wonder eye lash extensions are becoming one of the top trends of 2019! With that being said, I am here to inform you on some false information you may hear, and give advice to those thinking of becoming eyelash extension queens!

Will eyelash extensions ruin my natural lash line?

MYTH! When you go to a licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist, your lash line will not get damaged. These individuals go to school to learn about hair cycles, and what to do, and not to do to peoples eyes. Most of the horror stories you hear are from people going to unlicensed individuals offering lash extensions, simply because they are "cheaper." Invest in yourself and your lashes!

Can you go blind?

No! Your technician should be trained properly to apply adhesive to lashes in a completely harmless way. Your eyes are shut the entire time you are getting extensions so even if you have an allergic reaction, you will not go blind. Worst scenario is if you are allergic, then you may have to go to the eye doctor to get special drops.

Anyone with a lash extension certificate can do lash extensions, right?

NO, NO, NO!!! Just because someone went to a class on lash extensions does not make them legally allowed to perform the service. The person doing your lash extensions has to have either a state license for Esthetics or Cosmetology. Otherwise they are not legally allowed to be offering lash extensions. Like I stated earlier, estheticians and cosmetologists go to school and have to pass a state board in order to practice these services. Why trust random people? Especially when it comes to your eyes!

What Questions Should you ask when researching reputable salon or professional?

Just like you would with a hairstylist, research who you want to go to and how long they have been working as a technician. Look at before-and-after photos, read reviews and always make sure they are licensed!
